Another 4 Bladerider X8's were sent out in the last week of April, but another 18 planned to be delivered in May!
Australian 18' skiff champion and X8 Team Rider John Harris (pictured on right) received his boat and went sailing immediately. After his first outing he sent us an SMS to say...
"Got it wet... Foiled beautifully. Pain and suffering all worthwhile! Hopefully good breeze again tomorrow".
Three times 49er and 505 World Champion and Australian X8 Team Rider Chris Nicholson, also received his X8 but has not had time to put it in the water yet due to Volvo 70 committments. However we are sure that as soon as he is back, it will be flying on Lake Macquarie at over 20 knots and we will report on it immediately.
Vendee Globe veteran and Volvo 70 skipper, Sebastian Josse from France was also one of the other four new boat owners, but due to Vendee Globe committments, Seb has yet to fly his X8. Once again we will let you know how he flies along with X8 Ambassador Bertrand Coste also from France.
It also seems as though some of our Ambassadors have been doing a great job by offering their boat for a test sail. Chris Graham from Dubai had a sail on Glenn Raphael's new X8 and later emailed to say
"So much better than my old one (obviously). I found that I had to sit a lot further forward on the Bladerider and move bodyweight a lot less. A couple of unusual noises were a bit disconcerting but other than it was f***ing brilliant!"
(NOTE: We assume the 'noises' in question was only amplified through the 100% carbon hull, and as the boat is dead silent when flying, any noises at all are heard a lot louder than normal.)
Dutch Reseller Kalle Coster going for a late 'fly' on one of the many lakes in Holland.

Australian team rider Rohan Veal will be attending the event to help promote the X8, while our Scandinavian Bladerider reseller Ulf Lindhe will be available to take any orders.

2007 Moth World Championships Training
With a strong contingent of Bladerider sailors promised to attend the 2007 Moth World Championships in Italy, Bladerider International will be sending team coach Lex Bertrand to Torbole, Lake Garda on the 16th June to help assist those new to the boat, in their lead up to the Championships.
In the meantime, we strongly recommend that all sailors read up on all the racing support notes available on this web site.
USA & South African PR Trip
Finally a trip is being prepared to the West and East Coast of the USA and South Africa to promote the Bladerider X8. Due to time constraints from his World Championship training regime, Rohan Veal is now firming up dates to attend the following locations on the following dates:
- Long Beach, California: 2-5 August
- Detroit, Michigan: 6-7 August
- Newport, Rhode Island: 9-12 August
- Miami, Florida: 14-16 August
- Durban, South Africa: 19-22 August
The first day or two of each will be dedicated to training only with new Bladerider X8 owners, while the remaining days will be available for those interested in having a close up inspection, still have unanswered questions or have been invited for a test sail (weather permitting).
Confirmation of these dates and venues will be posted in the July news.
Reseller, Ambassador & Repair Center Update
We have recently appointed some new resellers and Ambassadors all over the world. Check out the Reseller page and Ambassadors page to see the latest. We will also be soon be setting up two repair centers in Europe (one in Hamburg and one in Italy), as so we can service any customer's warranty or non-warranty claims.
He might be small in size and the boat is very light, but Japanese reseller Naomi Tachibana shows off his strength, his new Bladerider X8 hull and his new Bladerider team car.
(We will have to think about pimping up those trolley wheels to match your car Naomi)
We now have photos and a more detailed description of all the optional covers avaliable with the X8.
We have promised for some time the sale and delivery of the deluxe travel box, however unfortunately due to priorities lying with the hull & foil production in the factory, these boxes will not be available until later in the year. For those that have paid for or would like to order a premium travel box, they will be sent at no cost to the customer, as soon as they are available.
