Congratulations to John Harris of Australia who won the 2008 Moth World Championships on his Bladerider X8 by sailing an extremely consistent regatta, not finishing less than 3rd in any race. Some other interesting facts about this World Championships include:
This may have been the highest number of Moth World Championship entries ever recorded.
This may have also been the highest number of countries to attend a Moth World Championships.
Half of all entrants in World Championships had a Bladerider.
More females entered this World Championships than the last ten World Titles combined!
Bladerider owners finished in 8 of the top 10 places and 24 of the top 30!
53 year old Andrew McDougall has finished second overall at the Moth World Championships three times now. The last time was in 1984!
Mat Belcher who finished third placed overall was competiting in his first Moth World Championships.
Arnaud Psarofaghis finished fourth overall has only been sailing a Moth for six months!
Congratulations to Arnaud Psarofaghis of Switzerland who won the Velocitek Speed Challenge held during the Weymouth World Championships. He took out the $1,000 Prize Money with
a speed of 26.1 knots on average over 10 seconds.
Bladerider FX: Impressive Results
17 year old local Melbourne sailor Lochlin Byrne raced on a prototype FX at the 2008 Moth World Championships and sailed above everyone's expectations to finish an impressive 21st overall! Well done Lochie!

Bladerider to Support Cambodian Orphanage
Bladerider has decided that it will contribute $50 for every boat sold towards 'Hope for Cambodian Children Orphanage'.
