Suzuki Moth Japanese National Championships
After a senior manager from Suzuki saw Bladerider reseller Naomi Tachibana sail his Bladerider one day, He was asked if Suzuki could buy a boat to promote a new motor bike they are launching. In addition, Suzuki sponsored the 2008 Japanese National Championships held on the weekend of 11-12 October.
The event was won by 26 year old Olympic 470 Sailor Horoshi Takahashi sailing on the Suzuki sponsored Bladerider X8. It is interesting to note that Horoshi's father Koukichi Takahashi is an ex-Moth champion.
35 year old ex-470 national team member Hiroki Goto, finished second overall after only buying Naomi's old Bladerider last month and sailing the Moth for just 3 weeks!
59 year old Naomi Tachibana was the Japan National Champion last year, however this year he still managed to finish on the podium in 3rd place overall.
Last month saw a great turn out from the Swiss and other Europeans for the Swiss Moth Open Cup. Congratulations to JP & Co. for organising the event. No surprise the winner was
Arnaud Psarofaghis who will be heading 'Down Under' on the quest for his next title. Special mention to Florence who had a great result 4th!
PUMA fly's high at Volvo Ocean Race - Cape Town
The first ever Moth regatta was held in Cape Town over the weekend in conjunction with The Volvo Ocean Race's Puma mini-il Mostro Bladerider's. 5 Bladerider's raced in awesome conditions: 10-20 knots, flat, warm, around 40 spectators and heaps of sea life around (penguins, dolphins, sunfish, seals). See our Events page for more details.

New Velocitek SpeedPlay Software
Velocitek owners love watching GPS replays of their races... but they hate the hassle of downloading GPS data from a bunch of GPS devices one by one and then spending hours fiddling around trying to format the data into a coherent race replay.
So now, Velocitek have designed some new software from the ground-up, to make the whole process of downloading data from a group of GPS devices, formatting the data into a race replay and then watching the replay as fast and pain free as possible. See how easy SpeedPlay is to use in this eight minute demo video and then download a 30 day free trial to try it out for yourself.
If you wish to purchase the SpeedPlay software, it only costs $49, but
if you use the following coupon code and buy it here, you will get an extra $10 discount.

Bladerider FX News
Josh McKnight recently sailed the Bladerider FX at the OAMPS Youth Championships and made these comments: 'All in all the boat was fast when foiling and the boat foiled easier than any other foiler I have sailed before even though its a bit heavier than the carbon boats it still foiled easily in the light breezes and the boat seemed solid even when I had a massive crash in a 20 knot squall that came through...'

Kevin Hall tests the New FX
Kevin Hall popped over from New Zealand the other week and had a sail of the new Bladerider FX. He was surprised at how well it performed and we were surprised at him flying in 6 knots of wind considering he used to be a finn sailor and weighs in at around 83kg.
